- The City of Peabody Division of Social Services supports the wellbeing of Peabody residents through identifying needs, providing crisis stabilization, and coordinating access to physical, mental, and behavioral health care services; coordinating and planning for after care needs; providing short-term emotional support and counseling, coordinating of substance use prevention programs in Peabody, including opioid-use prevention and opioid-use harm reduction and treatment programs, as well as primary prevention programs that foster positive youth development, and making referrals to community resources for additional supports, assistance, and safety.

- Prevention
- Through the branch of the Healthy Peabody Collaborative, the City of Peabody Health & Human Services Division of Social Services engages all sectors of the community focusing on positive youth development and positive community norms as a way to prevent or delay first use of substances.
- Scholarship
- The City of Peabody is pleased to announce a sober living scholarship program that is available to Peabody residents in need. Scholarships will be awarded to Peabody residents on a case-by-case basis. The scholarship will help to defray the costs for residents who successfully complete inpatient alcohol or drug detox and/or inpatient treatment programs and are looking for assistance with the startup costs associated with outpatient treatment options such as a sober living program, an intensive outpatient program, a traditional outreach program, a partial hospitalization program, or another medically approved option presented by the resident. The City of Peabody task force is dedicated to working collaboratively with school administration and staff, students and their families, health and safety partners and members of the community to maintain a culture of safety, respect and well-being for students and their families.
