Parking Information

  • Vehicles are not allowed to be parked in designated Downtown Parking Lots between the hours of 1 am - 6 am, and will be subject to ticket/tow. Overnight Parking will only be allowed in the following lots during a declared Snow Emergency Ban or with a Resident Sticker:

    • Central Street Lot
    • Nichols Street Lot
    • Mill Street Parking Lot

  • Parking Fee Information
  • Meter rates: $1.00/hour (min. 1 hour)
    2-hour max. on street / 4-hour max. in parking lots
    Hours of Operation 8am - 8pm (Monday thru Saturday)

  • Parking fines can also be paid at the Police Station at 6 Allens Lane or contact the Parking Division at 978-538-6312.

  • The Parking Clerk is available to take parking payments or answer inquiries:
    • 8:30am-4pm Mon, Tues, Wed
    • 8:30am-7pm Thurs
    • 8:30am-12pm Fridays

  • In the event of a Snow Parking Ban, upon activation of the blue lights located throughout the City, the Ban will take effect immediately.

  • When a Parking Ban is in effect, vehicles will be allowed to park in the following City owned municipal parking lots:
    • Foster Street Lot
    • Central Street Lot
    • Nichols Street Lot
    • Mill Street Parking Lot

  • Vehicles are allowed in the lots upon the parking ban going into effect (not prior to) and must be removed within two hours of the ban being rescinded. If the ban is rescinded after 12:00 am, the vehicle can stay in the lot until 8:00 a.m. that day. Any vehicle left in the lot after this time will be subject to being ticketed and towed to allow for snow removal in the lots.
